Elbphilharmonie

If you visit Hamburg, you should definitely explore the Elbphilharmonie. The Elbphilharmonie, a modern concert hall in Hamburg's Hafencity, is also affectionately known as the "Elphi". The concert hall is a trademark of the Hamburg skyline and has probably already replaced St. Michaelis Church as Hamburg's most famous landmark. The architects have created an exciting fusion between the old brick building and a modern glass construction that is reminiscent of a large sailing ship.

The glass façade with its curved and carved fronts offers a spectacular panoramic view of Hamburg, the harbor and the Elbe. The 20,000 square meter area of the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie includes two concert halls and is one of the largest and most acoustically advanced concert halls in the world. The musical program includes a wide range of musical styles - from classical to contemporary tunes.

Enjoy the view from the Plaza of the Elbphilharmonie. At a height of 37 meters, you have a great view of the Hamburg harbor, the Landungsbrücken and our MADISON Hotel. From the entrance, an 82-meter-long, curved escalator takes you up through the warehouse - you reach the Plaza in about 2.5 minutes - and the walk itself is a little highlight.
