Success with decency
DEUTSCHER ETHIK INDEX®
Our MADISON Hotel was the first company to be included in the German Ethics Index - Silver on December 4, 2019. Gerhard Lippe, the ambassador of the CLUB OF HAMBURG foundation, presented the award to Mrs. Head and Mr. Kleinertz.
What does this mean for the MADISON?
"We have always been deeply convinced that as a company - and especially as a privately run hotel - you can only be successful in the long term if you act fairly and decently and show high ethical and moral values to your guests, suppliers and, above all, your employees. For us, inclusion in the German Ethics Index Silver is a great endorsement of our work and an effective, scientifically based certificate that supports us in our continuous improvement process,” says Thomas Kleinertz.
The MADISON has been strongly committed to its own employees for many years. Tthis includes Pilates courses, health trainings, further education and exchange programs with other hotels. In addition, the cooperation with all partners and suppliers is always professional and fair, efficient and promotes sustainability.
The Club of Hamburg is convinced that it is worthwhile for companies to anchor ethical values in their management for moral reasons - but it is also worthwhile for economic reasons. Economic success is only sustainable if it is achieved in a decent manner. Therefore, the Club of Hamburg wants to give a voice to decent companies, such as our MADISON Hotel, in order to prove it together with us. For this purpose, the seal of quality "Success with Decency" and the German Ethics Index® - DEX were developed.
DEX (Deutscher Ethik Index® - German Ethics Index®)
The DEX offers companies that aim to achieve their entrepreneurial success in an ethically decent manner as well as the opportunity to present this publicly. The DEX reflects the maturity of the assessed company in the three levels of bronze, silver and gold. It shows whether a company is economically successful and, at the same time, has consistently ethically aligned its corporate culture.
The foundation – CLUB OF HAMBURG
was founded in June 2014 to actively support the main concern of the founders: assist companies in their efforts to achieve economic success in a decent manner.
On the one hand, the name of the foundation builds a bridge to the "Club of Rome" - successfully active for ecological sustainability since the 1970s - and on the other hand, it forms the connection to the home of the "Assembly of an Honorable Merchant".
"Only those who treat their employees, guests and partners with decency can do business successfully in the long term.“ Dr. Karl-Heinz Winter, Managing Partner of RYF.
