MY HAMBURG TIPS
Thomas Kleinertz, Managing Director
My vice: North Sea shrimp roll at Brücke 10
My personal tip: Private sailing trip along the river Elbe - with the company "Elbsegelei" you will experience a harbor boat tour of a different kind.
My favourite place: In a rowboat on the Alster lake with some wine and cheese, naturally.
My reward afterwards: a short, refreshing dip in the pool at Meridian Spa & Fitness where I can enjoy the view to the St. Michael’s Church.
After a sumptuous breakfast at the MADISON my wife and I look forward to an impressive tour in the opposite direction on the bikes we have rented at the hotel: for we know our beautiful Hamburg can best be explored by bike.
We ride down along the Elbe past Blankenese and Wedel to the Willkomm-Höft, Hamburg’s traditional ship greeting station.
By then we will have earned our lunch and treat ourselves to a cold glass of white wine on the sun terrace of Schulauer Fährhaus.
If you are like us, too lazy to ride back, you can take the subway from Wedel back into town.
And after so much sporting activity it is definitely high time for some relaxation! The numerous beach clubs at the Landing Bridges offer the perfect ambience for unwinding for a couple of hours – where else can you relax while watching cruise and container ships slide by so closely?
We look forward to a wonderful evening at Kinfelts Kitchen & Wine: the modern restaurant right next to the Elphi is not only known for its excellent and varied wine selection, but also for its fresh and creative cuisine. And on top of it all there is the splendid view to Sandtorhafen – it is all simply delightful!
The perfect end to a perfect day is then a night cap on the terrace of the MADISON BAR.
My favorite room at the MADISON: the Executive Studio 532. Not only the minibar is included; here you can enjoy the view to St. Michael's church even while lying in bed. This room is also equipped with a sofa - very convenient for everyone who does not want to watch TV from the bed.
