BIKE RENTAL AT THE MADISON
Anyone can do sightseeing by bus. So set off by bike instead through the city on the Elbe and get to know Hamburg in the best way. As our MADISON Hotel is very centrally located, it is the ideal place to start your bike tour - we will be happy to provide you with a bike for 14.00 EUR per day. All bikes are equipped with a basket and a lock.
Please note that we cannot reserve the bikes in advance. Feel free to speak to our reception team on site and rent the bikes.

Upstream - Elbe in another way!
The Dove Elbe is quieter, more idyllic and cleaner than is big brother in the harbour. It's the perfect place to relax and maybe even to take a dip. 18km long, this anabranch of the the Elbe meanders througjh the idyllic Vierlande and Marschlande districts. Here and there it widens and assumes the appearance of a romantic lake landscape.
Water sport enthusiasts and bathing fans love the Dove Elbe.
With your bike, you cycle past Speicherstadt and Deichtorhallen through the Elbpark Entenwerder towards Allermöhe. Keep to the bank of the Elbe River.

Strandperle and Elbstrand
A must for every visitor: Elbstrand beach. Pass along Vorsetzen, Landungsbrücken and St. Pauli Hafenstraße, past the fish market, continuing along the Elbe until you reach Museumshafen Oevelgönne - which is also worth a look in. Lock uo your bike and walk the last 200m to the beach, over which the famous captains' houses stand proud. In the middle of this beach you will find a Hamburg institution called the Standperle.

Jenischpark
An oasis of peace between Nienstedten, Klein Flottbek and Othmarschen, it's centerpiece is the Jenisch House, built in 1834. This former senator's country residence is now a museum housing changing art exhibitions. From this building you can enjoy an exceptional view of the Elbe at Teufelsbrück.
With the bike, you cylce past Landungsbrücken, Palmaille and the Elbchaussee towards Teufelsbrück.

Innen and Outer Alster
Set off from the MADISON towards Rödingsmarkt. Pass the city hall and go onto Jungernstieg, alont ehs hore of the Binnenalster (Inner Alster) to Lombardsbrücke, where you can enjoy the view. If you fancy something quieter, continue along the north-west shore of the Outer Alster until you reach the Alsterpark. With its swans, geese, yachts and greenery, it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet.
