Is it allowed to travel to Hamburg?

Yes, trips to Hamburg are allowed. Whether a business trip or vacation - we are very happy to welcome you.

What are the current cancellation policies?

Currently, only rates that can be canceled free of charge up to 24 hours prior to arrival can be booked for our MADISON. We want to make sure that you can make your travel plans as flexible as possible at all times and that you don't have to pay unnecessary fees.

Can I change my travel dates?

If you have booked a flexible rate, you are allowed to change your travel dates at any time.

I am travelling from a high risk area. Am I allowed to stay in Hamburg?

If you are travelling from a so-called "Corona risk area", you can travel to Hamburg by presenting a negative Corona test.

As of November 1st, 2020 you need to go to a 5-day quarantine. Afterwards you can make a corona-test which may end the quarantine time.

I am travelling from a foreign country. Am I allowed to stay in Hamburg?

Yes, you can also enter from abroad if you are not coming from a high risk area. If this is the case, you will have to go to a 14-day quarantine. If you can show a negative corona test (not older than 48h) upon arrival, you do not need to go to quarantine.

Can I spend the quarantine time in the hotel?

Yes, you can spend the time of the required quarantine in a hotel room. Each room is equipped with a kitchenette so that you can cook for yourself. We also provide a laundry service as well as a grocery shopping service. Please note that you are not allowed to leave the hotel room during the time of quarantine.


The highest hygiene requirements and standards have top priority for us at the MADISON Hotel; at all times. We follow extensive hygiene guidelines so that you can feel comfortable with us and spend a pleasant and safe stay.

Do I have to wear a face mask?

Our team wears a face mask or is protected by plexiglass windows.

We also ask you to wear a protective mask while staying at the public areas at our MADISON Hotel. When visiting the restaurant, wearing a face mask is mandatory.

What's the check in / check out procedure?

The check-in and check-out process is mainly performed contactless. Our reception is currently equipped with glass panes with which we protect you and our team. Disinfected pens and key cards are ready for you. Please throw the latter into the key card box at check-out. The cards are then disinfected. We ask you to prefer card payment.

Is the minimum distance of 1.5m observed anywhere in the hotel?

We recommend that you only use the elevators alone or with one household. We also keep the distances between the tables and chairs in the restaurant. If you are not able to keep distance to other hotel guests, we recommend to wear a face mask.

How is the public area cleaned?

All surfaces such as door handles, handrails of stairs, elevator buttons and the sanitary facilities are cleaned several times a day. We take care of a very good ventilation of the entire hotel as well. We are currently using disinfectant virucidal cleaning agents throughout the hotel. You will find disinfectant dispensers in various places, such as the lobby and the restaurant.

How is my room cleaned?

Your room will be cleaned every day. If you would like to skip the daily cleaning during a longer stay, please inform our team. All employees work with a face mask and gloves and use disinfectant virucidal cleaning agents. Before entering your hotel room, it is disinfected entirely.


Our restaurant is open for you. Since we keep a minimum distance of 1.5m to the next table, we only have a limited capacity of tables. We therefore recommend that you reserve in advance.

Is the restaurant open?

Yes, our restaurant is open Mondays to Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m and on Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Can I have breakfast in the morning?

At our restaurant you can choose between a large breakfast with egg dishes and coffee specialties (20.00 EUR p.p.) and the continental breakfast (11.50 EUR p.p.).

What are the breakfast times?

Monday to Friday until 11:00 a.m.

Saturday to Sunday until 12:00 noon

Is the BAR open?

Our bar opens daily from 6:00 p.m. On Sundays we even serve you our entire restaurant menu until 9:30 p.m. at our bar.

Why is my contact information collected?

Your contact details will be kept confidential and only for the necessary, helpful follow-up of infection chains in connection with the corona pandemic. The data will be kept in our house for a maximum of four weeks and will only be passed on to the responsible health authority on request.

Is there a maximum number of people with whom the restaurant can be visited?

Please note that we can occupy a table with a maximum of 10 people.


Are there concerts taking place at the Elbphilharmonie?

Yes, concerts at the Elbphilharmonie and the Laeiszhalle started again. You can find all information about the latest concerts under the following link.

Are musicals taking place in Hamburg?

All stage entertainment musical performances have been canceled so far. All tickets remain valid and can be used again for show rebookings.

Is a trip to Hamburg worthwhile at the moment?

Of course, because there are harbor tours, the Hagenbeck Zoo can be visited and many museums (such as the Miniature Wonderland) are open again. Or how about a bicycle tour around the Alster lake or a walk along the Elbe. There is so much more to see!


Can I hold a conference in the MADISON?

Smaller meetings can be hold while taking care of all hygiene regulations. Bigger meetings or conferences are not allowed, unfortunately.

Must the minimum distance be kept in the conference rooms?

There is a minimum distance of 1.5m between the seats required. To make this possible, we have changed the maximum capacities of our meeting rooms.


Is the Meridian Spa open?

Yes, the Meridian Spa is opened again. Due to the current distance restrictions, there is a limited capacity at the Meridian Spa & Fitness. The current utilization of the facility can be viewed on the official Meridian Spa website.

Do I have to wear a face mask?

Yes, please wear a face mask in the entire area of ​​the Meridian Spa & Fitness. You do not need to wear a mask while doing your training or while beeing at the wellness area.
