Dear MADISON guests,
Your safety and well-being are important to us. We understand that you have many questions due to the current situation. Therefore, we would like to provide you with some information that may be helpful for you. We continue to closely monitor the situation related to the corona virus and follow the recommendations of governments, health authorities and medical experts.
Due to the resolutions of the federal government, our Marley's Restaurant and the BAR are closed for public. We are happy to open our restaurant for hotel guests from Monday to Friday between 06:00 and 10:00 p.m., serving a selected dinner menu. In addition, you can have our continental breakfast in your room or at our lobby. We also offer a room service menu between 12:00 noon and 10:00 p.m, daily.

Is it allowed to travel to Hamburg?
Currently, touristic travel is unfortunately not allowed in Germany. Business travel as well as medical travel is allowed within Germany.
What are the current cancellation policies?
Currently, only rates that can be canceled free of charge up to 24 hours or 48 hours prior to arrival can be booked for our MADISON. We want to make sure that you can make your travel plans as flexible as possible at all times and that you don't have to pay unnecessary fees.
Can I spend the quarantine time in the hotel?
Yes, you can spend the time of the required quarantine in a hotel room. Each room is equipped with a kitchenette so that you can cook for yourself. We also provide a laundry service as well as a grocery shopping service. Please note that you are not allowed to leave the hotel room during the time of quarantine.
I am travelling from a risk area. Am I allowed to stay in Hamburg?
Tourist stays are currently prohibited. Business trips and visits to the doctor are permitted from national risk areas without a test.
Travelers from international risk areas must show a negative COVID-19 test at or no later than 48 hours after arrival and then go into quarantine. Another COVID-19 test can be carried out from the 5th day of quarantine. This one can then lift the quarantine measures. Otherwise you have to stay in quarantine for 14 days.
You also have to register at the responsible health department before entering Germany. The report must be made by all those entering and returning, regardless of the type of entry (plane, train or car).
I am travelling from a high-incidence area. Am I allowed to stay in Hamburg?
Travelers from high-incidence areas must show a negative CIVID-19 test when entering Germany and then go into quarantine for 14 days. Another COVID-19 test cannot be carried out to end the quarnatine time.
You must also report to the responsible health department before entering the country. The report must be made by all those entering and returning, regardless of the type of entry (plane, train or car).
I am travelling from an area of variant of concern. Am I allowed to stay in Hamburg?
No, entry from virus variant areas is currently prohibited. You are not allowed to enter Germany.
If you are a German citizien, you are allowed to enter Germany by presenting a negativ COVID-19 test. You have to go to quarantine for 14 days after arrival.
CURRENT REGULATIONS IN HAMBURG
Please note that in Hamburg there is a night-time curfew between 09:00 PM and 05:00 AM.
Do I have to wear a mask permanently in Hamburg?
You have to wear a medical face mask in all public buildings (hotels, banks, supermarkets) and on public transport. You must also wear a mask in some public places. You can see exactly where by using the following link.
Is there a closing time for restaurants and bars in Hamburg?
Currently, all restaurants and bars are closed. During this time, we offer a room service menu, including a continental breakfast service.

OUR SAFETY REGULATIONS DURING YOUR STAY
The highest hygiene requirements and standards have top priority for us at the MADISON Hotel; at all times. We follow extensive hygiene guidelines so that you can feel comfortable with us and spend a pleasant and safe stay.
Do I have to wear a face mask?
Yes, in all public buildings, you need to wear a face mask. Our team wears a face mask and is protected by plexiglass windows.
Wearing a face mask is mandatory for all of us.
What's the check in / check out procedure?
The check-in and check-out process is mainly performed contactless. Our reception is currently equipped with glass panes with which we protect you and our team. Disinfected pens and key cards are ready for you. Please throw the latter into the key card box at check-out. The cards are then disinfected. We ask you to prefer card payment.
Is the minimum distance of 1.5m observed anywhere in the hotel?
We recommend that you only use the elevators alone or with one household. We also keep the distances between the tables and chairs in the restaurant.
How is the public area cleaned?
All surfaces such as door handles, handrails of stairs, elevator buttons and the sanitary facilities are cleaned several times a day. We take care of a very good ventilation of the entire hotel as well. We are currently using disinfectant virucidal cleaning agents throughout the hotel. You will find disinfectant dispensers in various places, such as the lobby and the restaurant.
How is my room cleaned?
Your room will be cleaned every day. If you would like to skip the daily cleaning during a longer stay, please inform our team. All employees work with a face mask and gloves and use disinfectant virucidal cleaning agents. Before entering your hotel room, it is disinfected entirely.
Our restaurant is open for our hotel guests. Since we keep a minimum distance of 1.5m to the next table, we only have a limited capacity of tables. We therefore recommend that you reserve in advance. If you would like to reserve a table, please contact our team by dialing +49 40 37666 140.
Is the restaurant open?
The restaurant is open for hotel guests, only. We are happy to open our restaurant for hotel guests from Monday to Friday between 06:00 and 10:00 p.m., serving a selected menu. In addition, you can have our continental breakfast in your room or at our lobby. We also offer you a room service menu between 12:00 noon and 10:00 p.m, daily.
Can I have breakfast in the morning?
We serve our continental breakfast as a room service version between 07:00 and 10:00 a.m. daily. You may also have breakfast at our lobby, if you like.
Is the BAR open?
Please note, that our BAR is closed, too. Nevertheless, we do have beer and wine available for our hotel guests.
Why is my contact information collected?
Your contact details will be kept confidential and only for the necessary, helpful follow-up of infection chains in connection with the corona pandemic. The data will be kept in our house for a maximum of four weeks and will only be passed on to the responsible health authority on request.
ELBPHILHARMONIE, MUSICALS & MORE
Are there concerts taking place at the Elbphilharmonie?
Unfortunately, all concerts at the Elbphilharmonie and the Laeiszhalle had to be cancelled until further notice. You can find all information about the latest concerts under the following link.
Are musicals taking place in Hamburg?
All stage entertainment musical performances have been canceled so far. All tickets remain valid and can be used again for show rebookings.
MEETINGS & EVENTS
Can I hold a conference in the MADISON?
Unfortunately, conferences and meetings are only allowed with restrictions.
Must the minimum distance be kept in the conference rooms?
There is a minimum distance of 1.5m between the seats required. To make this possible, we have changed the maximum capacities of our meeting rooms.
MERIDIAN SPA & FITNESS
Is the Meridian Spa open?
Please note that the MeridianSpa is closed until further notice.
Do I have to wear a face mask?
Yes, please wear a face mask in the entire area of the Meridian Spa & Fitness. You do not need to wear a mask while doing your training or while beeing at the wellness area.
